Pollutant Characteristic Analysis in Urban Sewage Systems |
The pollutants in urban drainage systems include dissolved organic matter, suspended solids, sediment, micro-pollutants, oil, heavy metals, etc., which are the source of surface water pollution. Whether with rainwater or sewage pipeline network, combined system or separated system, the structure, design, and hydraulic conditions of drainage networks directly affect urban water environment and ecological quality.
Analyzing the input characteristics of pollutants in watersheds with different land uses and urbanization intensities, the impact of hydrodynamics on physical sedimentation, erosion, and biochemical transformation, and the interaction between pollutants such as carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and particulate matter are key aspects of watershed water quality management. In recent years, the emergence of new pollutants such as residues from personal care products and pharmaceuticals (PPCPs) has presented new challenges for urban drainage and water environments. Through monitoring actual watersheds and focusing on problems and engineering solutions, the research institute studies the production, transportation, and reaction of pollutants in relation to hydrodynamic conditions. This research aims to guide the planning and design of pipeline systems and optimize pipeline cleaning and maintenance, ensuring the most efficient operation of the pipeline network.
