Laboratory Overview
The Sino-German Urban Water 4.0 Joint Laboratory will build an advanced laboratory, referring to the German IKT Research Institute. The laboratory includes indoor and outdoor parts.

International Urban Water Research Platform co-established by Nanjing Jiangbei New Area, NUIST, and the German Institute for Underground Infrastructure (IKT). It covers areas such as water supply, drainage, urban hydrology, and water ecology. It includes a 3k㎡ indoor laboratory and a 2000k㎡ outdoor observation base.

Indoor Sewage Pipeline Network and Storage Testing System provides hydraulic and flow control testing and flow measurement calibration for pipes with diameters ranging from DN100 to DN500. The laboratory is equipped with 4 pumps and 7 calibrated electromagnetic flowmeters.


System Parameters

  • Tank capacity: Upper 70m³, lower 100m³, height 5m

  • Pump flow rate: 550 l/s

  • MID flow meter: Pipe diameter, DN32~500

  • Area: 5mx12m

The portable calibration system is equipped with an airbag sealing system and a high-precision piping electromagnetic flow measurement system providing accurate measurement of the full/partial flow of the pipe with different diameters.

System Equipments

It is equipped with various pipeline fittings and tank equipments for hydraulic testing, including valves, overflow valves, throttling valves, etc.


Small-scale Equipment and Simulation Room

This room features a small demonstration device that offers a learning space for members of the laboratory.
