On August 26, 2019, Dr. Norbert Könemann, President of DSP Consulting Engineering Company in Germany and an expert in detention basins, arrived in Nanjing for a 15-day exchange to discuss the design project of the detention basin for improving water quality in the Chengnan River area of Pujiang District with the institute. This project aims to eliminate poor water quality in the Chengnan River and other rivers within Pujiang District. Dr. Norbert Könemann's design focuses on process design for Zhibei River and Dongfanghong River storage tanks.
